The Seattle Colleges' Division of Access, Community and Opportunity hosted an engaging conversation with Kanaka ʻŌiwi cultural practitioner Sui-Lan Ho‘okano on Practicing Kuleana Across Land & Water: Honoring Past, Present, and Future Generations.  This guest lecture invited participants to reflect on how they show up—not only in the communities they come from, but in those they are part of today. Grounded in the values of pilina (relationship) and kuleana (responsibility), it challenges us to build meaningful connections, listen deeply, and take intentional responsibility for the spaces we move through.

The event was held May 13, 2026 in the World Event Center on the campus of North Seattle College. Video of the event will be posted on this page soon.
