Seattle Community Colleges Television, SCCtv, has been honored with another Northwest Regional Emmy nomination. SCCtv received the nomination in the category of Reporting/Programming for SCCtv General Manager and NATAS President John Sharifys work on the program Unsilenced

The announcement came Friday evening, April 16, at a special event held by the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The festive event included performances by area television station bands, including SCCtvs Ramshackle, fronted by Movie Marvels host, Professor Fred Hopkins. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships NATAS Northwest offers students who will be tomorrow's broadcast leaders.

The program Unsilenced is a poignant, uplifting documentary about Seattle-based chamber music organization, Music of Remembrance (MOR), and its mission to ensure that the artistic voices of witness to the Holocaust and a priceless musical legacy are not lost.

Sharify received another 11 nominations, the most nominations in the region, for news reports he has produced and reported at KING 5 News.

SCCtv would like to congratulate all the nominees for work well done. A full listing of 2010 nominees is available at the NATAS Northwest Chapter website (a site we created, by the way).
