Seattle Community Colleges Chancellor Jill Wakefield announced four finalists for the position of Norths next president. See the list below.

Each is interviewing with the chancellor and spending a day on campus during the week of March 10-14. Their schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, March 10: Daryl Campbell
  • Tuesday, March 11: Rachel Solemsaas
  • Wednesday, March 12: Richard Penny
  • Thursday, March 13: Warren Brown

Each candidate is holding two public forums that are open to all members of the campus community. One forum will be from 12:30-1:30, and the second from 3:15-4:15. Both will be held in the large classroom in the northeast corner on the second floor of the new Health Services and Student Resources Building. Signs will be posted to help you locate the room since the new building does not yet have assigned room numbers.

If you an unable to attend either of the forums, a video of the 12:30 forum for each candidate will be available in the video player, above, approximately 24 following the forum.

In addition to these open forums, candidates will meet with the president and vice-presidents, leadership of the faculty and staff unions, student leaders, and members of Norths external communities. Everyone who meets with the candidates, including everyone who attends an open forum, will be invited to provide written feedback directly to the chancellor to help inform her final decision.

The members of the Presidential Search Committee strongly encourage you to meet the candidates when they are here, and to provide the chancellor with your feedback about each one. This is a decision that is important to us all, and your experience of and thoughts about each candidate will help the chancellor make the decision that is best for our college.

More information regarding the search for North's new president can be found on the North president search website.
