This year's event to celebrate the live of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. took place at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle from Noon to 1:30pm on Friday, January 18, 2019.

Watch the broadcast of the event on SCCtv, Comcast Channel 28, Wave Channel 19, Century Link 8005/HD 8505 on Sunday evenings at 6pm through the end of February, beginning Sunday, January 20, 2019.  There will also be special showings of the event on SCCtv on Martin Luther King Day, at Noon and 8pm.   

The event's emcee is Monique Ming Laven, KIRO 7 evening anchor and music will be provided by DaNell Daymon and Greater Works. 

Special Keynote Speaker is Georgetown University sociology professor, Michael Eric Dyson. Dyson, a frequent contributor to the New York Times and comentator on MSNBC, says of Dr. King, "He was one of the greatest Americans in the history of this land.  He grew, deepened his understanding of American democracy and the opposition to it, and began to call upon America to forge a new path.  He believed that America was essentially a dream.  And as a dream, it could be reimagined."
